Regardless of what day of the week this is or day of the year this is, it’s a brand new day. Throughout the billions of years of this universe’s existence, today has never existed before.
Being creatures of habit, we tend to do the same things each week and after a while, a Monday is just another Monday. That may be the case on the calendar but time doesn’t go around in a circle like we see on a clock. Time is a straight line, forever moving forward.
Just because you’ve always spent your Saturdays the same way for the past 10 years, it doesn’t mean this coming Saturday has to be spent the same way.
It’s so easy for us to think today has happened already because of how we measure time and how routine our lives have become but in reality, today will only be the same as last week because we choose to make it the same.
The point is that the outcome of today and every day after that is yet to be decided.
If you’ve been living a mundane life, a life of disappointment or regret, it doesn’t have to continue being like that. You could change all of that by changing how you live each day.
Past failures are in the past. They don’t need to exist in your future. Too many people carry their past failures along with them and let it destroy their future.
This doesn’t mean to completely change everything you do. Choose the things you’ve been doing that you like doing and keep those and change the things you’ve been doing that don’t serve you.
People often think change takes time. It doesn’t. Results take time but change, that can happen in a heart beat.
Today really is a brand new day, a day to start fresh, an opportunity to create changes that will result in a different life.
Of course, today could also just be another Monday or whatever day of the week it currently is. Today could just be another routine day where you do what you’ve always done. Today could just be another step in the same direction.
If you like where you life is going, by all means, continue doing what you’re doing. If you don’t, however, then it’s time to break the routine and make some changes.
